Before doing too much get the bores checked and ensure you're not flogging an over-bored piece of scrap.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

No, I'm serious - you need to know the bores will hone up OK at the right size to suit (low compression) pistons that are available, or you're on a hiding to nowhere.

I'm not taking it apart and uprating anything, just making a k03/k04 hybrid and bolting it on. But that's not for a while. Thanks for your concern, but engine isn't going over 300bhp so I'm not worrying.

Today I'm just stripping the last couple pieces. My orange degreaser and paint should be here tomorrow so I can start cleaning and painting things and putting it all back together.

I'm talking about the boat anchor here:

Oh ok, hahaha! Yeah defo will mate. I'll be using the standard rods/pistons with arp rod bolts and a head spacer, not aiming for serious power with it. And as it goes now, I'm not thinking about it. Wait til the 1.8t 'more done' :D

Your 1.8T adventures aren't played out yet then?

Nope.

Got these goodies today

Painted a few bits last couple days

Hoping to get the engine and bay all cleaned up next time, get the boost piping cleaned up and the ends welded up (well blobs put on!). Then start putting it back together and order hoses that are needed and get brackets made up for the PAS reservoir and intake pipe.
