Does the ignition switch have a fuse or something that is missing?
Not low enough mk5
Not on the road enough mk3

Auto electrician looked at it and said its the battery being low, causing higher amps on start-up and with the ignition switch being blown, it causes more problems. He couldn't find a wiring fault that would cause it, although he did fit a relay to stop any high amps breaking things next time (immobiliser, etc).

Will see what happens on Monday when the new ignition switch is fitted and the battery is fully charged.

Nice placement of the boost gauge... outside is looking spot on now, bet you cant wait to start cruising in it again..  hope your leccy's dont give you anymore jip!

Well the electric's starting playing up, cause I was a douche and school boy error'd it. Hopefully when its fixed I won't have anymore problem's with it, all the wiring is tucked away now, so I can't do it again :D

Yer, didn't really want any extra gauges, cause there isn't a lot of places to put them without adding a pod. So I stuck it there, might paint it black, but will see.

Damn right! Can't wait to get back in it again!!!

yeah i'm hoping my fresh electrics will behave themselves!.... I'm lucky, mk1s have gauge spaces but the VDO's were removed in the 90s by previous owner and blanked off for the alarm proximty sensor adjusters!  Ive put it back to normal and intend to use them again.

Looking ace there Alex! :afro:

What have you used to secure the boost gauge in? looks odd? lol

I assume you can't rip apart the blanking panel that would normally be there?

Mmm yeah it was difficult, its held there cause its a tight fit! Lol! There wasn't a blanking plate, just the airbag warning light.

The dash is in the way really, but I didn't want it anywhere else.
