What a judder!
« on: 05 April 2004, 12:49 »
Was on the motorway from London yesterday evening. It poured down and driving conditions was awful. Anyway, got stuck in a crawling traffic. Was moving slowly in 1st gear then all of a sudden car started juddering violently, 2 and 3 gears did not make any difference. :-[ It lasted for about 5 mins. When traffic started moving freely I floor it and since then it hasn't come on again. Thing is car don't stall during this kangaroo stance. And there was more than enough fuel in the tank.

This is the 2nd time I have experienced this bad juddering. Last time was in early feb 04. two days after the snow fall which cause chaos on the roads.

Any ideas the source of this problem?

Saw my mechanic yesterday about juddering experience. He said it may be due to a damp patch in the engine.
I might see an auto electrician if it happens again.

Cheers pals.

Not sure, Blue.
There is this suggestion that it could be an electrical problem.

Usually if its associated with damp conditions its a fair bet you have an HT ignition problem. Hairline crack in the dizzie cap, leads etc......first things to check
