I saw this at Autosport in January and it is a really fascinating piece of technology. The guy promoting it was also on the Autosport show on Sky the following week :cool:

so, would that kind of technology be of advantage for a, say, Golf GTI Edition 30, or is it just good for F1?

I'd say that it has it's advantages in race technologies primarily, however the guy I heard was talking about fuel economy applications for use with hybrid technology as a main target for domestic car useage. It's main drawback will be getting the technology in a car at a reasonable price v's the cost savings in fuel over its lifespan.
