coilovers are on : )
« on: 25 February 2008, 18:20 »
got my coil overs on today, VW dealere price 400, price i paid at garage 150 so not too bad, also had my eibach roll bars on aswell,

first impressions are the car holds ALOT more on corners and any nudge you give the steering wheel the is very quick to follow, also there is NO body roll what so ever.

now the car is sat a bit tooooo low at the moment as the arches are sat on the tyers, also the rear is higher than the front because he said it needs to bed in more. also the guy who fitted it said that there is too much camber on the rear wheels and needs to be altered slightly when bedded in!

there is also a hell of alot of scrubbing on the front so whats best to do in this case?? wait for it to bed in and then raise it or fiddle around with the plastic trim under the arch? any comments would be good.

il post pics at the weekend in the project section

It does sound like you may have gone a bit to low at thr front  I did have a bit of rubbing, if you look under the arch around the centre there is a raised portion with a screw in the centre, remove the screw and tuck the liner up behind the mounting tab. This stops most of the rubbing, I still get a little bit near the front but only occasionally and will just wait for it to wear the liner away a bit
