In-Gear Times, ED30 with remap/Nissan 350Z Novidem
« on: 25 February 2008, 11:21 »
Hi all,

Was just reading about Novidem 350Z with a compressor (380hp, 430Nm).
There are in-gear times from tests of this car (in kmh and seconds):
40-80kmh
in 4th: 4.8,
in 5th: 6.9,
in 6th: 11.4sek

80-120kmh
in 4th: 3.8,
in 5th: 5.4,
in 6th: 8.5sek

The only in-gear time I found for E30 was from the article on Bluefin, 80mph-100mph in 6th: 4.3sek

Anybody has any figures for in-gear times for E30, please?

Also, what do you think about 350Z, someone gotta have driven/owned one.

Finally, just to let you know, Novidem also makes conversions of R32 and Audi TT 3.2 (www.novidem.ch)

That 0-60 time for a 350bhp golf must be wrong surely? either that or extreme sandbagging! If a standard ED30 golf DSG can get 0-60 in 5.66, then another 100+ bhp must give more than 0.26 seconds difference .

Peskarik,

I can't find modified ED 30 times but I'll have a look through my back catalogue

Sorry Peskarik!

I can't find anything in my back catalogue of magazines either :embarassed:

Only the superchips piece and like you say, that doesn't give much info either.

Hmmm, it's time we got some kind of performance testing day sorted :undecided:

I seem to remember EVO doing a hot hatch group test with a GTI, VXR, Civic etc.  Im also pretty sure they had full performance figures tested back to back with the other cars.

Only problem is that i dont seem to be able to find it on their site, definatly in 2007 if anyone keeps the old issues..

Wheelman,

I do have that in my back catalogue, but it was for the standard unmapped GTI and not a remapped ED30 (March 2007 EVO)
The nearest I can find is for the standard S3, which is slightly heavier than the ED30, but has (officially!) 35ps extra. So a remapped ED30 would be faster for all increments. The S3 was tested as follows (MPH)

0-30  1.8sec
0-40  3.1sec
0-50  4.0sec
0-60  5.6sec
0-70  7.1 sec
0-80  8.9sec
0-90  11.2sec
0-100 13.6sec
0-110 17sec
0-120 20.8sec
0-130 25.4sec

1/4mile 14secs at 102mph

In gear times

in 2nd
20-40  2.2
30-50  2.1

in 3rd
20-40  3.4
30-50  2.9
40-60  2.8
50-70  2.9
60-80  3.4

in 4th
20-40   5.4
30-50   4.1
40-60   3.6
50-70   3.7
60-80   3.8
70-90   4.1
80-100  4.6
90-110  5.6

in 5th
20-40   8.5
30-50   6.5
40-60   5.3
50-70   4.9
60-80   5.1
70-90   5.3
80-100  5.6
90-110  6.1
100-120 6.9

in 6th
20-40   11.7
30-50   9.9
40-60   7.9
50-70   6.7
60-80   6.4
70-90   6.8
80-100  7.5
90-110  8.0

Oh, and it beat all the others for performance in the test - Brera V6, BMW 130i and Mazda 3MPS.

Just to add more food for thought. I've driven a standard S3 - and it is wayyyyyy slower than my remapped ED30 for the in-gear times

Thanks Hurdy!

Yeah, S3 may be slower, but it is also underpowered compared to yours. If it had 300+ hp I wonder what kind of times one could get. And don't mention the war.. err I mean the wet.

You see, it beats Mazda 3 MPS, which has 260hp and 380Nm!
