Hello from Nick at Rtech
« on: 24 February 2008, 22:50 »
Hi All!

At the moment we run a Calibra  4x4 Turbo which we have spent too much money on it already to her to kick out 310bhp and run to a 13.9sec ¼ mile.  But we have now got a feel for the Golf 1.8Ts.
We have been tuning them for customers for the last 9 years and had some really good fun with the R&D on the rollers… so the Calibra will be put up for sale in June at the PV show at Santa Pod then We will be buying a Golf AGU 1.8t to play with.   So we will be getting into the VW tuning scene even more in a big way over the next few years, We already have full page advert going out in the May issue of Performance VW, plus we have just booked a prime location at the GTI International show 2008 at Bruntingthorpe proving ground (which is on our door step and we use for our own developments and testing in the winter) On the weekend of the Gti inter show we will be launching our new company UK-Remaps which will be taking over from R-tech Remaps UK.
We did our VW 1st show at last years GTI Fest at Santa pod which went down really well and produced some good feedback and work.
I can be asked any questions regarding software tuning, remaps and chiptuining and I will answer the best way and most honest way I can.

Don’t take this the wrong way I don’t go around all the forums drumming up and toteing for work, This is the 1st VW forum I have come across which is NOT full of members who  like to slate and put member comments down you all seem to be really down to earth.  So if OK with the mods I would offer a free remap session, which will be on our rolling road in Hinckley to any one with a 1.8t any year.  Then they can provide us with some feedback and comments on our setup, products and service. We already have brilliant feedback which can be seen.  Like I said above I have not and I’am not going to offer this anywhere else on the internet.

Thanks for reading I hope I can help and advice in the forum over the next coming few years

Nick,

Hi Nick, welcome to the forum.. but you have bloody bad timing mate  my 1.8T is going next week and I'm a stones throw away from you in Tamworth. I'm sure there are plenty of people here who will jump at the chance of a free remap. How many are you offering? I'd like to come down and take some snaps if there's a bunch of people involved.

You should wander over to our mk4 section, just be prepared to get flooded with emails once you mention the words 'free' and 'remap' in the same sentence

Hello Topher!

We have a dyno cell in Hinckley which is only a trip down the A5 for you,  In fact I was only in Tamworth last week working on a 635d a black one with WIZKID as the reg plate so if you spot around it dont race it as it is a total monster...lol

Good idea in regards to a photo shoot, We are wanting to make a promo video to show at the GTI inters, ie to out line what we have and what we can do etc..  if you want you can pop in and take some snaps when we carry out the remap session. I would really like a pre 2000 AGU to remap so I can video in the rollers, we all ready started to make a video with a customers AUM running 212BHP.

Nick

There are a couple of guys with '99 AGU's looking for remaps on the forum at the moment. Or you could just buy mine before I chop it in

Welcome to the forum. It's good to know that we don't come across as, how shall we say, as critical as some other forums.  :afro:

I'm sure you're going to go down a storm in the mk4 section !

 Hi!

I need to sell the Calibra 1st, but 100% defo getting MK4 GTI. If you still got your Golf in June I will more than likely take it off your hands?
Well the 99 AGU remap will be an ecu out direct to eeprom remap session.  2000> DBW will be OBD2 via Optican FLASHER the same tool developed OBDTUNING.DE and used by AMD.

We dont just tune the Golf4s, We have many year "Old Skool eeprom chiptuning" which is the same as a remap just a different method of getting the software in to the ecu.

I had a read on the UKmk4s forum, and it is constant "mines better than yours" “Dont use them use these” etc...

Unfortunately most forums seem to be like that these days, either that or they argue that black is white. As this is a smaller forum you tend to find that attitudes like that usually get stamped on pretty quickly by the regulars.
