Everbody's weekend....
« on: 24 February 2008, 21:43 »
it seems loads of people have being busy this weekend and even I've done some work!!

I have repainted my original grill (and repaired the break) and that will be going back on shortly (as soon as i can get the laquer to shine! )
and I have ordered £80 worth of detailing products! took some time finding the good stuff. and I have got some seat clocks and ordered some led bulbs to fit them too!
this is on top of work (well 3 hours on sat) and the children staying.. so I'm pleased with whats got done
hope everybodys done plenty/enough too..... Lets all ban wasted weekends like I normally have

Its a bugger to get the laquer to shine huh, i found that too!

At one point this weekend i had 9 wheels on the golf, picked up some alloys for the Gfs Corsa. HAHA.

nelds i have found a place that sells o.e dash bulbs are led replacements and I am going to give some a try.. they should replace the clocks, cig lighter, heater surround bulbs the easy way
try this link http://www.ultraleds.co.uk/automotive-bulbs-509t-dash-bulbs-c-101_142.html
oh i will compare them and do a thread showing the difference between the bulb replacment and solder jobs...(on the clocks at least as i currently run soldered led's there)

hehe thanx man, it seems a shame to be removing this lump at somepoint in the future to replace it with a 20vTurbo unit, but the new engine will be treated to the same treatment so all will be good

i guess ill put this engine up for sale when the conversion is done which will be end of the year i guess, maybe a mk2 owner may want it...

i just like the OE clean look on the mk 3, and i aint seen many, if any early mk 3 GTIs as clean as mine
