twin carbs on an 8v?

looking to put some twin carbs on my 8v but have heard various thoughts and opinions, so i thought i would ask you guys for your advice.
1) Is heat going to be a problem due to location and not being a crossflow set up.
2) Would putting more vents in the bonnet solve this.
3) will exhaust wrap help
4) will i need to cut out the rain tray

any other suggestions and help appreciated.

just done this myself a couple of months ago. its all pretty straight forward you do not need to cut ant metalwork away, although the carbs will foul the clutch cable, this can be modified easily by bending the pipe it runs in out of the bulkhead. exhaust wrap is a must for this setup, i have not had any problems with the fuelm evaporating in the carbs. final problem is air filters. due to the lack of space you need to run soft foam filters which are rubbish and will need cleaning and oiling every thousand miles or so. other than that mine goes like stink and sounds awesome. enjoy!!

heatwrap is well worth it, the inlet manifold will need some shaving off probably to sit flush against the head with the exhaust mani fitted.

theres lots of other little things you need with them but its proper good fun learning about it as you go along and they make the bay alot cleaner, especially compared to all the previous k-jet injection stuff i had lumbering around
