W REG GOLF CABRIOLET ELECTRICS- Central locking!!!

Hi there guys... any help would be good.... My girlfriends mum has a 2000 W reg golf 1.6 cabriolet (mk4 front end but moslty mk3 bits)...

When she turns the key to unlock it.. the windows go down... sometimes wont go back up for ages!

and i think now she has to get the passenger side cos her locks staying down...

basically the cars electrics are messing up with the central locking....

any help?

mite be the door wireing loom ive had problems with mk3 golfs with door wireing looms

does the pump buzz in the back of the car? if so that would indicate a vaccum leak, check in the door rubbers where the tube passes through.

there is a switch on the door handle which does the window total closure, take it off and have a look.  I'd disconnect the switch to start with, if that fixes it then get to vw or a scrappyfor a replacmeent.  as for the locking issue could be the link rods have popped off or summat, again have the handle off and take a look :)
