You can just pull it off if you dont want it again cos it will snap from my experiance! if you do want it again then in the boot if you feel around then you can find two tabs thing and give them a good push!

Thats what I did as well.  Try warming them up (hairdryer?) and using some fairy liquid as lube on the locking pins if you really don't want to risk them snapping.

do these just press in to fit when there new?
nothing clamps on the back to hold them on?

i think they might be like a peg fitting so you may need to squeeze the rears together to get them out, but i could be wrong,

they do take a bit of force, but just remember how many years it's been happily sat there! haah. it won't want to come off!

Yeah Han's right - mine had a little round grommet thing that "gripped" the plastic pin.
