mine was in the garage for service and other stuff and they said didnt need to change it

look after the pennies and all that....

yeah fair play, but i sometimes if bits are cheap, i just replace them, maybe its a waste of money, but better peace of mind for me i guess.

I know what you mean, I asked him to replace but he said it just needed tightening

sound guy at Sale VW, trust him as he has seen the car since I bought it

I use an old man with a garage that used to be an RAF mechanic, but hes like 60 and not certified, but never had a problem. Whats good a for a fighter plane is good for my gti. lol!  :laugh:

Only changed the belts about a month ago but will check for them tightness this weekend, thanks to len for the advice.
