Washer fluid used up quickly
« on: 20 February 2008, 14:34 »
How often do you guys have to top up your washer fluid?  I seem to have to top it up far more regularly than any other car I've ever had.  Not sure quite how regularly I do it, perhaps every 3 weeks at this time of year.  I have Xenons so I assume the washers on them use a bit more but I'm still concerned I have a leak.

I have been topping up way more than any other car I have had (including cars with xenons) but put it down to the bad weather we have had this winter.

 to be fair though i did use the second fill up pretty quick on purpose, i got some of the proper VW screen wash so decided to use up the other stuff. I have to say the VW stuff is definately better than what i was using and it's not that expensive either. The guy i know at my local VW garage says that non VW screenwash will eventually crystalise in the jets and the fan spray pattern will stop working properly. You can sort this though by removing the jets and steaping them in hot water.
