Headlight washer stuck
« on: 20 February 2008, 10:09 »
Putting the rubbish out this morning i noticed that one of my headlight washers was sticking out, seemed to be frozen stuck.

I assume it got that way on my journey home last night when i was clearing my windows on the motorway.

Anyone else had this problem? i dont really want to force it too much and ive tried pouring warm water over it to unstick it.

I'd try the hot water again and then activate the washers. It should (hopefully) go back in

If not wiggle it while a 'friend' operates the washer control again

My washer isn't stuck but one of them stands a bit proud from the bumper and looks like it hasn't fully gone in. I have tried to push it in but the plastic feels loose. Small issue but a bit annoying.

One of mine sticks out as well, goes in for first serice in 2 weeks and I've told them to fix it then! (as well as the condensation in my rear lights!).

I had the same problem this morning... they were both sitting proud. I was attempting to wash my windscreen but the jets didnt seem to be working at all. I thought if you had the winter pack the jets were heated??? no??

Its only because the headlight jets are so powerful that I was able to wash my screen with them too

They finally managed to push in with a little assistance from a friend. i did read in the golf instruction booklet that they need to be defrosted before use with de-icer.
