I rate OEM brakes tbh, if i upgrade im going 312mm r32 brakes, aot of aftermarket ones wear donwn really quickly or discs warp!
Will always love my mk4 but she had to go...225 Quattro TT in its place....but its still black (she lives on in spirit!)

That sounds like a great idea! Your Golf should always beat him on handling regardless of what mods you choose.

You're having a laugh aren't you?
Prejudice's aside, the Mondeo has one of the best fwd chassis of any modern family car - it is truly class leading.
This cannot be said for the Mk4 Golf, regardless how much fondness we hold for them, you need to be realistic.
Mondoes have always been praised for their handling, and, in general (R32 aside) the handling of the Mk4 Golf has been slated.
Unless the golf undergoes serious chassis upgrades the Mondeo will be the better handling car of the pair.
I'm not a fan of Modeo's (I once had one as a company car - yes, I was Mondeo man) but you can't knock the car Ford have produced...

mk4's handling is good once you got a set of coilovers and a strut brace

These alloys are nice, dunno whether a 35 offset is really enough though.  Plus no idea on tyre costs.
