I've been thinking of getting the 18" monzas for a while now and looking at the ones on ebay for £429 they should come with unnamed 'performance' tyres included. Quite a bargain considering the dealers price.

Its worth looking at alloywheels.com as you have the option of upgrading the tyres to something more fitting for the GTi. I couldn't find the post, but recently someone was asking for opinions on the alloys from ebay and alloywheels. I'm sure someone better at searching will point you in the right direction.

i have been looking at the monzas' on ebay, just a bit worried how long they will last, i am sure that they are from china for that price. i've emailed a few of the sellers but have had no reply, says it all really, you get what you pay for. cheapest i've seen on fleebay is £399 +25 p+p, including 4 xtyres which are undoughtably crap.

i got some monza 2 reps for £240 from web. Cheapest i've found them. They look like the real thing as well.
At that price i can afford to buy a new set every year

try these, as mentioned above you can spec up the tyres to something that'll give you a bit more confidence

Hi... may not be a problem on 18" wheels, but the off set is wrong. OEM wheels are ET51 not ET45
But just by chance I will have a brand new set of OEM wheels next week some time.
As I am getting some BBS CH's and my original wheels are getting exchanged under warranty..
email me if your interested..... I'm after about £1000 with two rear tyres that have done 15500 miles...
