Anyone tried Privilege car insurance?
« on: 17 February 2008, 20:18 »
I just used their online system.

I'm currently 24, I've been driving for 7 years, and have 5 years no claims.  I was in an accident last year that wasn't my fault, so my policy wasn't effected.

1999 VW Golf 1.8T GTi (150bhp)

Fully comp quote = £316

I added my mum onto the policy and saved £40!!

i used to be with them... used them and they were no problem but watch your renewal premiums creeping up... also be careful on your excess amounts

I'm with privilege, joanna lumley talked me into it.

Mk2 GTi 8V - £380 fully comp with £150 excess.

Nay too shabby, will give HIC a bell when its renewal time though, see if they can compete.
Mk2 GTi.

I'm with Admiral.

28, 4yr NCB, fully comp £255.  Thats with the missus named, and she only passed her test a couple years ago.  Thought that wasn't bad on a Modded 1.8T ;)

Excess is £200 though.

Also, got her insuring a 306 Dturbo for the same cash, fully comp, with me named.  Cant say I've seen better.  I'll maybe give HIC a bell come September when my Golf is due for renewal though.

Privilige and Direct Line are actually the same company so thats why you'll see similar prices.

If you have Direct Line Home Insurance you get a discount on your Privilige insurance quote.

I've been with privilige for nearly 6 years now. They were the only company remotely interested in insuring a 23 year old in a Group 19 Fiat Coupe with three theft claims.

Since then they have been consistently the cheapest and are pretty good if you ever need to make a claim too.

I used Priviledge for 10 years. they were always the cheapest for me, were great every time i put a claim in (5 non faults in 10 years  ). they are UK call centres aswell.

I only stopped using them as they couldn't be competative on my mk2 16v.

a good company.
