could anyone out there shed some light on the gti sound system on : :evil: :evil: :evil: :evil:nerd: the basic car is it any good ...also what does the midline computer do

I'm assuming you are into your music if you're asking this :undecided:

The basic sound system in the Golf GTI is an 8 speaker set up. You can specify an upgrade to the soundpack which has 10 speakers and is marginally better although it is quite "boomy". Neither were really good enough for me and so I replaced it all :laugh: :evil:

I find the GTi sound system more than standard...
But only when the car is stationary.
Some how the car sound system seems to become tinny when the car is moving  :undecided:

Speakers (3 way up front and coax in the rear), sub and amp (in the boot) including dynamatting all the panels in the doors and the boot and including fitting came to just over £1k.

Hurdy,

Does the Kenwood have the same speed sensative increasing/decreasing volume function (as in the volume increases the faster you go and vice versa) as the OEM radio.

Does the OEM sound actually increase and decrease towards the speed your doing?? I sorta realised the other night and i had to keep lowering the volume every now and then  :laugh:

Yeah it does, you can set the variables as far as i know, turn it on.off etc. Sure i seen something in the manual about it but you can hear it change whilst driving

It does. I can't remember what radio package I went for (and the paper work is now in the attic thanks to an enforced tidy up of my office :sad: though i think it is the 500) but its quite obvious that the radio increases as I speed up and decreases as I come to lights or a roundabout.

Not that I know :undecided:

I've not found that function within any of the literature or in the set-up screens I've been into.
