« on: 16 February 2008, 19:58 »
Hi peeps, well long story, but my wife has agreed to get back into a GTi!!
I have found a couple so far.One at my local dealer for £21995 in Diamond black, very good spec with dvd sat nav, leather, cruise, dsg again
Its on an 07 plate but is a Parallel import with 8900 on the clock. Is the price seem abit to excessive?? do u think i have good grounds to get money off that price??.
Or ive found this one, which is not from a dealer but again has simular spec but in lovelly RED!!

EDITION 30 is a no go'a, i dont want a low spec car for the same value and prefer to go for one with more toys like my old one.

cheers peeps, and are looking foward to returning more to my old stomping ground!!

I thought it was very high priced until I saw... 3 high price options... dsg, leather, satnav etc.
Do yo "really" need all three?

Phil, I had you down as a xenon man at least, bearing in mind your prior gti and current passat had them????? Sure the red one doesn't have this option although the black one at the stealers?????

no unfortunatly neither had xenons, the only ones with xenons are either high mileage with no leather, or ones are worth ED30 money which defeats the object. My passat doesnt have xenons and ive been quite happy with those tbh.I was as many toys inside like my old oneB4 anyone says it ( i should never of sold my old one!) :lipsrsealed:  i have £19K on trade in plus Max of £2k maybe to barter.

I know the feeling (should never have sold it) I sold my MK5 R32 for a E46 M3 BIGGEST mistake i ever made!! I was in the same situation as you, looking for a similar spec car to replace the one i should have never sold.Ended up buying another MKV 32 in he same colouras my first!Still we learn by our mistakes dont we?I,d sit tight for a bit the right spec will come along if your patient enough.

Mind you noyt in the same colour as ypour previous one i bet.

NO NO NO dont get me wrong they are an awesome car, but they are(in my opinion) very hard work to drive round town.
ROCK ROCK HARD RIDE
BUILD QUALITY NOT THAT GOOD,QUITE A FEW RATTLES CREAKY PLASTIC.
VERY THIRSTY round town,
AND ive got two kids and the mrs hated it!!
Very hairy in the wet even when driving like Miss Daisy  Made me appreciate a powerfull car and improved my driving skill(a bit)
Had mine 10 month ish and it was in for warranty work 4 times!!but the delers are excellent never parted with a penny and always got a brand new 3 series no arguements for a courtesy car.

BUT, From a to b they are quick(very quick) it was the only car ive had that you could(if you got some prick trying to race you) beat almost anything. It was a car that gave me butterflies in me stomach when you engaged launch control from a standing start. The accelaration in any gear was unreal.
Put it this way its suppose to be limited to 155mph IT ISNT!!!
Remember picking me second R32 up from the dealers driving it home and thinking"wheres thepower" but after about 10m miles you so much appreciate the comfort of the golf, and i was happy again.
