Electric windows: Window clamp plastic prob
« on: 16 February 2008, 16:18 »
Hello all.

After pulling my door to bits and trying to work out why my rear drivers window keeps slipping down (especially fun when I realised this half way through a recent car wash!), I think I've discovered the prob.

The plastic above the small cup for the blob of metal on the wire appears to have broke, and on two of the little plastic springs on the side, that keep the pressure maintained between the clamp and guide.

I've seen whole assemblies on fleabay, but can you get just the clamp itself? Dont mind getting a new from from a stealers if I have to (or beer tokens for anyone on here that may have a spare!), but I'll be off end of this coming week to china, and will be leaving the car in the open. Some of the wires in the door were already soaked!

Cheers in advance

Paul

PS: Whilst I'm at it, do people think it may be useful if I film the whole thing when I do it and get it on youtube?
