new alloys or stick with standards HELP!!!
« on: 15 February 2008, 18:52 »
i was thinking of getting some new alloys for my flash red mk3 and wasnt sure what to go for   :undecided: I was thinking may be black to go for contrast but which wheel?  its sending me mad

i love the bbs alloys but a bit out my price range.

i was wondering about the team dynamics in black link below

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/16-TEAM-DYNAMICS-PRO-RACE-1-2-ALLOY-WHEELS-SET-OF-4_W0QQitemZ300199050996QQihZ020QQcategoryZ9888QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

what do people think? i dont want to buy then go off them straight away so
i have to make sure i make the right choice.

anyone got a flash red golf with any pics

well i guess it depends on ur mind-set.

if ur in ur late teens/early 20's then maybe ull want ur car 2 look all boy racerish & 'blinged out' or if ur a bit older, u might want ur car 2 just look like a classy german hatchback?

like u, ive seen possibly hundreds of dun-up, pimped out and completely standard mk3's. im in my late 30's now and i have 2 admit, personally, the best of ANY cars are the ones that look as standard as possible. how many times have u seen bits for sale on ebay coz the seller is putting the car 'back to standard'? loads!! the fact is, most mods look great 4 the 1st few weeks, but start 2 look quite tacky and cheap after that, just looking worse and worse as time goes by, till u cant take it anymore & ...................'selling these rims as putting my golf back 2 standard'!!! lol

i think, lowering, a nice stereo setup, maybe some very light tints and perhaps some 'mild and gentle' engine mods, thats it...........oh & if u can afford it, maybe a cheap personal/ageless number plate!! as slick as silky the silk worms' favourite silk pajamas!!

ill come back and c wot the opinion of the others on here is, who knows i might be massively in the minority.................i am an old fart now!! lol

You talking crazy boooy!

Think the team dynamics are a little 'too much' for a standard car. You'd need to do a lot to get them to look right, but still not convinced they'd work with a red car....

dont get me wrong i love the simple and subtle look. i kinda went wrong with my front splitter but anyway thats a different story. what a car needs is a sh!t hot set of wheels some lowering and thats bout it on the outside. as long as the paintwork is in good condition it works every time :)

Kind of getting the idea the subtle look always wins but may be not all the time. I always have an open mind when it comes to modifying so always love the other opinions from good guys/gals like yourself.

Well unfortunately I will be 30 this year I haven’t turned into a road captain yet
but there’s plenty of time to shake a stick out the window. lol

I love my dubs and love anyone else that’s into them as well I’ve had a few golfs now and wouldn’t go back I also had a PAXO VTS which was a big mistake.

Well the car came slammed on some coilovers but that’s about it looks nice as it is and yes I was thinking may be a private reg  plate for her and that’s it.

Golfs do look nice as they are (no way would I bodykit it)

I must say sir I do like the bbs alloys
