Congrats to Hurdy and RedRobin.

Just took a look at the section and found it very entertaining and both Hurdy and Redrobin had very good write ups.

Sorry to the other guys. Gaz and Joe. Gotta run now.
But will look at yours tomorrow.

Keep up the good work!

....Hurdy and myself must be the filthy rich big daddies ('oldies') of the Mk5 world.

I just keep hearing voices in my head saying:

lol

If I could just get my dad to let us mod our Gti there would be 3 filfthy rich daddies of the Mk5 world

Joe. Just looked at yours now and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it.
Nice and up to date and I must say. Seeing that pic of your car with the Audi rims I really do miss those rims...

And GAz has not done anything yet.

Nice work guys. When are you getting your silver stuff for the car? (Hope thats descriptive enough cos I cant remember what you called it)

Cheers Mike,

I'm spending some of my dads inheritance money on my car as I feel that is what he would have wanted me to do. Although he wasn't into modding himself he always took a big interest in what I was doing to my cars and always went with me to car shows, track days etc
He took me to my first car show in 1974 (yes I am old!!!) at Earls Court and so he's partly to blame for my "addiction" anyway

Cool. Cool.

Looking forward to reading your thread GAz.

Hurdy, I think what you are doing is absolutely acceptable (not that I can tell you what to do).
When my dad had a MK3 VR6 imported (he could not wait any longer for it to arrive) my grandfather who is very interested and passionate about motor racing told him the car was a waste. "German Crap" in his own words...

My dad took him for a spin (and I can say my father is a brilliant driver) and he came back pale. Since then my father always consults my grandfather about cars etc and when we got the GTi my grandfather said the same words but then climbed into the seat and said. Lets do this. He came back pale once again and said. I knew the Germans could make good Crap.

So i must say that fathers greatly influence their children and its good to see your father has influenced you and taken interest in something you enjoy. So enjoy spending the money. (But also include Mrs Hurdy   )

My dad and I have been discussing a lot of things lately with it being my final year at school etc and its interesting to see just how much is common between us.

I sent you a PM regarding some advice. I found the last advice you gave me extremely helpful.

Mike

I want
