looks like a good spec for the money, only downside is that its the 1.8 and not the 1.8T

the 1.8 is 125 bhp and not that quick for a GTI, still good cars but you'll be getting left behind by GT TDI's and 1.8T's

No don't look for one of those! It will make my already hard job finding one harder after Rhyso's recommendation!

still a bit pricy on the TDi's

can get a 1.8t Gti for around £2500

The TDi models seem to be much newer and henc more in the £4k region. and the high BHP versions seem to have a premium.

Always been a petrol head rather than a diesel head anyway, I like revs.

i have onwed a 1.8 non turbo i it is nothing compaired to the 1.8 turb which i own now ,
go for the 1.8t trust me its a big diffrence.
