If it is a write off and you are looking for another one I might be thinking of selling my car as my other half is pregnant again so probably selling both our Golf's to fund a 7 seater .

Mine is same spec as yours 96k on the clock, but full VAG history.  Just a thought anyway :undecided:

But really hope you can get your car sorted as they look really nice in Grey

Stu, I will be looking for a 1.8T from May onwards and you are not that far away from me, do you think you will still have her in May?

Yeah, baby's not due until October time so no mad rush to sell.  I'll keep you posted Alan as you mentioned before that you were thinking of getting into the forced induction scene

Just had a read on this. Gutted for you. Let it go and find another as it will never drive the same as it did before, no matter how well it's done.

Good luck fella.

Finally heard back from the insurance today, its mixed news really. The car is a write off...repairs would cost around the 4k mark, but they are willing to pay me the trade price of the car. After assessing the damage and the state of the car the offer made to me was £4,200 minus my excess which was £550 so i will have £3650 to put towards a new car!

I am sad because i did love that car and the colour! But am going to take this as a learning experiance and hopefully return with an even better Golf. Just gutted that the cars is going to scrap..i will let you guys now where it goes as its grade A salvage material!

So the hunt begins! i'll keep you guys posted...and would appreciate if you guys would let me know of any motors you see (especially in grey!) has to be 1.8t with AUM engine though!
