Glad you all ok, got my fingers crossed for you. I honest dont know what I would do if something like that happened to me. Iv had a similar incident on a dual carrageway where there was LOTS of stnading water and I aqua planed, but it was on the straight and I managed to get her back on, scary stuff.

Get it back on the road, fix up look smart and all that. Even if i rolled mine, i would try and fix it.

its unclear at the moment, due to the valuation of the car it may be a write off due to the expense of labour (if so i'll buy it back and do it myself) but the chassis may also be damaged and if thats the case then its byebye GTI 
 I've been looking for another one just in case and its very hard to find an example in as good condition as this one (AUM, Recaros, Traction control, 3door) man i love this car! waiting for the insurance engineer to get back to me with the news!
