yeah a a vw oil filter is good and syntra silver should be fine
worth doing the air filter and plugs too if your not sure when that was done last

i dont know bout genuine filters??? i mean yeah they are just the same but different labeling. as long as ya use a decent quality one ya cant go wrong. id do plugs oil filter air and fuel filters

This is supposedly true and also applies to plug leads and buy the recommended plugs.
TBH I havent seen or heard any proof of this on a VW but have on my Pug.
