Can I get this part from VW?
« on: 01 April 2004, 12:20 »
http://www.4crawler.com/Diesel/ForSale/ShiftLinkageInstall.shtml#ShiftLinkageInstallation

Have a read about half way down for the section "A2/A3 Relay Shaft Ball Cover Installation:"

The black gromit that fits on to the white nylon ball with the ridges is just not there on mine - I've looked at the gear linkage repair kits you see on ebay and it doesn't like the part would be included.

Any ideas if I can get this easily of VW? Don't suppose anyone has the part number is it's something you can get!

Looks like I'll be doing the same as the sloppy movement is driving me nuts !!!

Sounds easy enough to fit - was it for you Gambit ??

piece of piss to fit!

gets rid of all forward/backward motion in the gearlever

if you put it in gear then wiggle the lever to & fro you get an idea of how much wear there is

after fitting, all that free paly has gone!

the ball just dropped of my relay shaft - thats how knackered it was
