Brakes
« on: 12 February 2008, 16:56 »
Brakes are going to need replacing soon, looking to uprate them, whats the most cost effective way to do this. I've heard a bit about changing the carriers to allow for a bigger disc but am not to knowledgeable about the procedure...anyone shed some light on what options i have when it comes to brakes.

cheers!

To upgrade to 312mm brakes (As fitted on the anni, 225 tt's) all you need is 312mm carriers (the back part of the caliper),312mm discs and pads. You can use your existing calipers

As for the rears I believe  but I'm not 100%, that the upgrade isn't as simple, because you have to change the calipers, too.

need everything for the rears mate, including the splash guards.

Find a crashed Octavia VRS, Anni (god forbid!) or MK1 Leon Cupra; they have the 256mm rears; picked mine up from a scrappy for £115 :afro:
