From the moment i saw the GTI on top gear and the ed30 on 5th gear with the ST i said that id have either of the 2. The focus was going out of production in november (as was the ED30 at that time) so it seemed a bit of a no brainer to go with the brand i felt i could trust more. (Plus i know people in the VW dealership)
Everything about the GTI and the extras of the ED30 attracted me, limited edition was just for the bragging factor.

I could've went for an r32 in a heartbeat but i go by what Jeremy Clarkson said a while ago "If you have doubts or dislikes about anything in a car, don't buy it" and there is many things i don't and couldn't grow to like about it.
Personally, i wouldnt have bought the car if i cared about residuals ive bought it to enjoy it. Be that 3 years, 5 years, until i write it off... only time will tell

As for the compensation comment, i wasn't meaning that as in the money we'd lose or anything (if any), simply for the fact that if you buy something thats exclusive and limited, pay the premium (which of course there is for the E30) and then be told "Hmm, nah we've changed our minds and want more money", i'd like to see something, be it money, accessories, cheaper discount on next car bought etc etc
"Under the Sale of Goods Act 1979 traders must sell goods that are as described and of satisfactory quality.
If consumers discover that products do not meet these requirements they can reject them and ask for their money back providing they do so quickly. Alternatively, they can request a repair or replacement or claim compensation."
