the golf's back in action now after redoing the exhaust system and fixing the shift rod.

It turned out the main source of exhaust blowing was the lambda bolt falling out

i must have forgot to nip it up. Doh! I have added a flexi to the manifold and welded the centre pipe to the middle box now so theres now only two clamped joins in it. Can't believe the difference this has made over the bodged together system i used for the trackday, theres loads more torque now!
for info, a 2 1/4" system with just the two back boxes is 96db, so very trackday happy

i thought it was gonna be louder tbh
the sift rod will do for now, but 1st and 2nd are a bit hard to get. Not surprising really as this is the 5th repair on it

think ill put up with it until i'm ready for a 02a box with bias pedal box setup, then at a later date change the fd and fit a lsd to the box. I might as well separate it into 2 jobs as 1, an lsd is f**king expensive and i'm not splitting the box more than once and 2, i can check the box i buy is a goodun before spunking money on it
