the car got a good thrashing at brands silverstone today. apart from a snapped doorhandle, broken shift rod, and broken fuel gauge it went great! i missed my slot with the instructor because of the shift rod issue as well which sucked

a couple of laps onboard

im taking the golf off the road for a while now so i can work on the front of the shell. the engine will be coming out soon and all seams welded same as the back. for now i have been stripping the dashboard area and removing the last of the sound deadening and glue. man i hate that glue!

have also been removing unused wires from the loom and generally tidying up bits, like fitting a new interior light instead of the old one ducktaped to the ceiling

Man you've been busy!  What's the plan with the dash? Is it going back in?

yep its going back in with a bit of lightening and the outer vents removed. its always gonna be there but ultimately it might be a fibreglass shell. a la touring cars

Carbon fibre OE shaped dash would be awesome!

I might cut the passanger side off mine (leaving the ducting for screen clearance).
