exhaust vibration
« on: 09 February 2008, 13:43 »
Ive got a magnex 3" twin round but it has an annoying vibration on it. It only seems to happen between 3 and 4000 revs, and it was just below 2000 as the revs drop.
It doesnt appear to be touching the heat plate anywhere.

I was thinking it maybe the connection just after the cat. Had the replace the bolts with new ones, but they dont have the square bit under the top to stop it turning, so i had put some spring washers on the ends.

Does anyone else have any ideas?

Get some new exhaust rubbers from VW. They stretch and the exhaust drops onto the rear bracket that's there to stop the exhaust falling to the floor should it drop off. You normally get a vibration between the gearstick and rear seat of the car with that. Could also be if the car is lowered and the exhaust has dropped onto the rear beam. You notice this a lot more with people in the back

I have new rubbers in the middle and the back ones are ok, its nowhere near the heat plate or the axil.
