MK4 Headlights
« on: 08 February 2008, 20:04 »
Sorry if this seems like a silly question but does anyone know whether the light casing is bonded on or clipped on??

Thanks

its bonded mate; have heard you can heat them up in the oven to unset the glue; either that or maybe use a hairdryer

I was worried that'd be the answer!! Next question: Does anyone know a reputable modifyer in the Surrey/ Sussex area that will be able to fit angel eyes on my MK4?

hang on do you mean how are the headlights fixed to the car?? or are you on about splitting the headlight unit apart??

if its the former its a series of torx screws but you need to remove the front bumper; takes about 20 minutes with a mate

there are numerous angle eye kits for the MK4 (why you would want to is beyond me though)

like Rhyso says the actual headlight is held in by a couple of torx screws, you would have to remove the front bumper to get at all of them though.

If you want different style headlights have you seen these:

I know they are expensive, But you get a different look from standard and keep to genuine vw parts?? (I hate cheap aftermarket things like angel eye- just my opinion tho)
