OK thanks for all the info bit better prepared to go and look at it now.

Its priced nearer 2k than £1500 so I will have to see if the bodywork is mint and the history etc justifies the price but will let you all know later if I am the new owner of a VW.

electric + heated mirrors
heated washer jets
central locking
PAS
front fogs
and deep VAG splitter (added by myself)
and dealer optional extra hella twin headlights (added by myself)

think thats about it

£2k seems a lot for an 8v i just bought a 98 R reg for £1000 with 12months Mot and 6 months Tax.

needed a £15 repair but that was it.

Id want a 16v for that money

Yeah got the option of a 16v and not 8v (both same price) but the 16v has a few bits of rust and the trip computer doesnt work on it, where as the 8v is immaculate.

Both got full service history and are both spotless engine wise.

I am leaning towards the 16v just need to sort out the clock situation (see my thread in 'the garage' for details).

ive just picked up a 96 8v its got full electrics a/c and a sunroof,91k with fsh £1350

All gtis have them, but they are useless.

not all gti;s had them i believe

they burn out easy, thats the problem...easy fix tho, just get some new nozzles as thats where the element is that burns out
