Replacing aerial moulding on MK4 golf roof

Hi All

I have to replace the aerial moulding which the aerial screws into on my MK4 golf roof.
I have a secondhand one on order just wanted to know if anyone has replaced one
and if it's a pain? also do I have to seal it to the roof?
