if u go to VW they done sell the valves now, you just get a pipe straight from engine to bulkhead, easy to change and imho better than a bit of copper piping.

i did it recently and also changed the matrix which was easier than expected. not really had it on the open road yet though as the G60 has a few issues that need ironing out first, but it did warm up very quick on tick over and the vents did blow hot for the first time since i bought her.

dont suppose youve got a part number for them?

gsf do a valve too - 17855 is the part number (I have asked for the part number for the vag one too as my valve is at my other house so I can't check!)

How much did you pay for the straight through pipes and do you have a part number? Cheers

Just picked up the valves from GSF - £32 inc the vat. As previously mentioned part no 17855. They're genuine VW parts so all good. With the straight through pipe from dealer I'm assuming you still run the risk of the matrix popping?

Very minor risk though. The mod was brought in because of a very small number of incidents in the USA, where the possible costs of court action were much higher than over here. Apparantly the Mk3 matrix is stronger, and all replacement matrixes are to Mk3 standard. So, if the matrix has ever been replaced you'll have no problem with bursting.
