right, i baught my car 3months ago on 19000 miles, im now at 29,000 miles and the warning light is coming on saying 'service due 1100  miles.

1. does it need doing before the 1100 miles or when i  have done 1100 miles.

2. which oil will they use.

3. which oil should they use.

4. how much will it cost.

5. what else will they do?

Cheers for the info guys

mine goes in for its first service in a couple of weeks (9,500miles), quoted £98.76, which includes oil change and filters and just a basic check over - so they tell me! I'm guessing you can wait until its covered the 1100 miles before it actually needs to go in.

cost wise it depends on where you live.  I'm in london and it was £165 for first year service, however, got a quote from the supplying dealer outside of london and they match it to £145.  From what I hear you should pay less up norf!

It depends if you want to keep the VW service history up. Awesome will do a better job and probably won't break anything like the main stealers always seem to do with my car
