you'll need to do something to drop the compression, boost on a std 8v engine will blow it up quickly!  2 G60 metal gaskets should do it, either that or new pistons.  Depends on the boost levels you plan to run! remember the std 8v lump isnt designed for boost really, not like the G60 bottom end which has oil squirters for the pistons n stuff like that.

so if i get some low compression pistons and 2 metal head gaskets it will be ok? or will the g60 pistons fit? thanks

you use one or the other, not both ;)
g60 pistons would fit yes, but you might as well just get a G60 block tbh, much less hassle.  New pistons need the block honing, then you still have the lack of oil squirters which might casue you greif later on down the line.  A G60 head would be good to have too they have sodium filled valves.  You at least need the G60 cam or sports G60 cam, as the std GTI one wont be right for boost.  Its a little known fact the G60 cam isnt as agressive as the GTI one, too agressive cam means you loose boost out the zaust!

yep, then std loom is in no way suitable for boost :)

Thats what i didnt want to have to do, hense why i was goin to turbo the engine i already have in.

sounds like a propa nightmare to do all this..1.8 20v seems the easiest option
