40mm Drop Advise
« on: 01 February 2008, 23:05 »
Just wondering what a 30mm or 40mm drop is like over speedhumps.

Ive got hundreds round my end and my last car, a mk3, was a nightmare!
Admittedly it was dropped to the bottom on coilovers but looked the nuts
BUT i got fed up of driving it.

Best option might be to leave it standard but a small drop makes all the difference imo.

Any pics would be appreciated aswell. Cheers

my small bumper mk2's splitter rubs when i park my nose over kerbs, badly rubs, bends it the wrong way, not even new cars do that, so 40mm drop on a mk2 is gonna be worse than a new car.

im yet to hit my MK2 on speedbumps, thats a bigbumper with the chin spoiler, dropped 40mm.

it does catch over curbs whilst parking though.

I don't think a semi will give the same results

So if your careful parking its fine? Does your exhaust catch the bumps at all?

That was the main thing i was worried about.

iv got the eibach pro's on boge turbos and the drops around 35-40
its a 90'spec and sometimes catches things.but only speedbumps when you dont slow down enough.
40 is the perfect fdrop to get the wishbones level

Mines dropped 60mm (see my sig) and I catch the chin all over the place but that's ok, exhaust only on evil speedhumps.

I guess that pic doesn't really show how low it is. How about this one?
