Squeaky brakes?

My GTI has suddenly developed squeaking noises when braking at slow speeds ( 20 - 0 mph ) . My car is a 2007 GTI with 6500 miles on the clock. Is this a problem?

Mine do the same! Could be glazing of the pads, perhaps due to too much light braking?

Yeah sounds like light breaking has glazed the pads - try to find an empty car park and 10 minutes of heavy break use should sort them out and improve the breaking no end
