Thanks for that Andy B, Ive printed that off and will use it as leverage with the dealer!

I'm over here in Northern Ireland, so I'd need to go over and collect that one.  Besides, I need a 5 door (note I say "need" and not "want") as a 6 week old little 'un and a wife who has problems fitting car seats have to be factored in!

Perhaps I should suggest to the dealer getting Monza IIs fitted instead of repairing the kerbed 17s to clinch the deal (along with a full tank, tax and all that!)

....But if you ask for a full tank you best make sure it's at least 98 RON (Shell V-Power is best).

....That's right! I ordered 17's but bought some 18's a few months later. No appreciable difference in the ride but they look a zillion times better, especially on red for some reason.

We didn't go for red, but the red is so striking that the wheels need to be striking to compete, and the 17" don't do it. (VW knew that most would opt for the upgrade - they're not stupid!)

Just to confirm, the ride quality with 18" wheels is fine. We've got an Edition 30 which has 18" as standard, and it's not harsh at all...
