so obviously full exhaust system and panel filter/drilled airbox is a good place to start, but whats the next logical step from there?

Normal is getting dressed in clothes that you buy for work and driving through traffic in a car that you are still paying for - in order to get to the job you need to pay for the clothes and the car, and the house you leave vacant all day so you can afford to live in it.

Simplest.... to be honest, buy the next model up
costs alot to upgrade a 8v to 16v, 16v to 1.8T etc etc. If you can afford to modify it's probably cheaper to buy!
My Fast road cam goes in on the 15th

Nah i want to stick with the 8v just because im not gonna be ragging it all the time and nice to have low down torque just for normal driving etc. Newman cams are quite good i hear?
