Amyone else read VW motoring?

I am finding Peter Carrick's ?200 challenge most interesting!

Basically, every issue he has to buy a roadworthy VW for 200 rubs or less.....

Well the first one he bought was a fully working mk2 golf. i cant remember what he paid for it......150 i think? Anyway, he tidied it up then floged it for....? 250!

and got a polo for ?50!!! :) which had tax/mot.....and next issue we find out what happens to that and what his next purchase is.

if i had 200 quid, it'd be burning a hole in my pocket!! ;D

I think actually, he bought it for 150, spent some extra fixing it up and then gave it to his son.
I did only skim read it, but quite an interesting idea.
I think the ?200 had to include it being roadworthy.

When I sold my old Mk2 GL I got ?150 for it, but it needed ?200 to get it roadworthy.

The golf i had before this one was a mk2 1600 driver in jade green got it from an Austrailian dude who was going home, it had a brand new radiator and Weber carb conversion, i found it advertised on the wall in Sainsbury's for ?95 with mot.

I expected a real shed but when i got to his house it was a minter bar a few little dents and scuffs the body was really solid anyway ?55 passed hands and i had a new runaround. I lowered it put some cheap 15" alloys songle headlamp grill and the seats out of my mk2 project i had about 8 months trouble free motoring (just had to do the head gasket) oh it was mot'd for 10 months when i bought it.

When i bought my mk3 i put it for sale on my dads drive. Loads of interest and sold it for ?550 good profit hey.

Did anyone see the vw motoring last month with the colour concept in they called it the savior of the mk3 (so why did'nt they put a bigger engine in it) saying that mines running exceptionally well at the mo must know i'm selling her.

God don't i go on!!!!
