Hi

Just thought id say hello, im looking to buy a golf Gti at the minute prob going down the MK3 route, just test drove a 8v and must admit it was a little slow. Think its going to have to be a 16V for me.

Ill let you know once ive got my grubby little mitts on one.

Cheers Matt

Cheers mate,

Got an 2 8V and a 16V to see tomorrow so hopefully one will come through

but then to confuse things been offered a 99 celica with 11months Mot and 5months tax for £850! so may have to look at that as well.

I like the golfs though but think itll have to be a 16v after the 8v i drove today didnt feel quick at all.

Welcome!

DONT buy an 8v! You will be disappointed. Only look at good 16v's!

I was thinking only 16V to be honest and that test drive confirmed it!

Ive got one 16v to look tomorrow so hopefully all good.

The celica is cheap so might grab it and just sell it on again, looking at autotrader they can fetch £1800 so might be worth it for a quick profit.

Im pretty set on a golf im excited! one i looked at today was ropey but everything still had a quality feel to it. Nice and solid.

Ive just come from an A4 so i like good solid cars hate flimsy feeling cars

Check the buying guide in the Mk 3 Maintenance section, will give you some ideas what to look out for.
