Indicators not working!!!

So as you may have guessed from the subject my indicators arent working!
When i start the ignition the indicator comes on solidly but not very bright, then when i push the indicator stalk either way the light gets brighter but doenst flash and nothing happens outside the car.
please help!!! its very difficult doing roundabouts without indicators!!

sorry just to confirm, the indicator light that comes on is the one on the dash. the exterior lights dont do anything.

Sound slike an earhting issue somehwere. CHeck and clean all your indicator connections and see if that helps.
