My mistake the Pump is not working What Do i Need to do???

I made a post last week saying that the passanger door was not locking it is still not and today i noticed that the drivers door not eather the pin goes down but not quite all the way and the door can be opend!! What do you think could be wrong???? I have had about enough of it!!! Please Help Me!!!!

boot-mounted vacuum pump working OK when you turn the key?

There should be a short brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrp when you lock the doors.

If it is then you need to check for vacuum leaks around the network of annoying pipes around your car that make the locking work.

i would also try seeing how free the locking mech is itself i just had my driver door die totally and it just needed a wee spray with wd40 let it soak now its free and better than before must make life easy for the pump aswell so wouldn't hurt if you gave them an oil anyways just a thought

The pump is working but i have had enough of this s**t vacume system how hard would it be to change it to electric moter system? or is it posabel theres a bend in the hose or are the hoses solid? or do people sell new hoses that are cut to the lenght with joints and that?

like said above wd40 on the locks, have someone blow down the pipe at the motor and listen for any leaks, thats what i did when mine was playing up.
I even bought another pump as i thought it was goosed, but it was just a simple air leak on passenger side by the door pillar.
Dose the fuel flap lock?

UPDATE: Boot now not locking!!!!!! Might the pump be dyeing?

Hi Sorry  :cry: people that said it befor the pump is not working what should i do? It does not turn on at all. i can not see the central locking on the fuse diagram? Please help me!!! But the driver door still locks??? i think it must be on a electronic moter?? becuase the pump in the boot does nothing??

I've got a spare pump if you want it dude. It takes about 2 minutes to fit. I dont want anything for it, only paid a fiver for it. Pm me if interested. :smiley:

You could do with having a check behind a door card to see if you are still using the original VW air powered central locking or if someones replaced it with an aftermarket electric one.

If its a VW one then its the pump or an air leak from one of the pipes.

I'm guessing if the lockings triggered from the drivers door then there must be something there that senses the locking and tells the rest to lock. Could be that as well?
