Alloys for a mk4 1.8T

Hi Guys,

Am considering a new set of rims for my car.  Its not modified in any way at present.
Currently it has the standard Montreal II rims on it.  I am planning to lower about 40mm, so take that into consideration.  My car is a black 5 door.  Also would love an r32 front, skirts and a 4mo rear valance with a miltek sticking out the back.  Going for an OEM+ sort of look.

Am considering the following wheels, and want to know what you think of them.  Anyone got an experience of them (i.e. : damage easily, known for problems etc etc).  What would you do:

Choice 1: Genuine VW Santa Monica rims.  Not to pricey if had 2nd hand.
Choice 2: Sportec Rims in a shaddow chrome finish. Not sure on price, probs very much!
Choice 3: BBS LMs - pricey as hell!

I know the choices are varied in price, but thats the point, need to consider the value-for-money option.  What would you do?  What are the pros and cons of each.  Also open to other ideas such as keeping standard rims, or another type of rim.

Why? Because you cant beat OEM parts and thay look cool on mk4s IMO!

IMO yes  i love those wheels on a mk4 BUT There are a lot of mk4s with them now

Only thing that draws me away from the santa monicas is that they look a little generic.  Granted that looking generic is not a bad thing, but it doesnt give the OEM+ style that I want.  If that makes sense.

I thought the BBS LM look too dramatic, and look blatantly like modifications.  The Sportecs look gorgeous.

Any more advice...?

out of the three i'd go for the BBS LM's but then you're looking at as much as a small car just on rims.

the MK5 R32 rims look really good on the MK4 as do the RS4s

Was away over the weekend so didnt get to check this thread - i like the advice.

Would like to see the pics of the mk5 r32 rims.  BBS LM loog the dogs, but cost them too!
