Slow wipers
« on: 25 January 2008, 12:23 »
Hi Folks,

The wipers on the old girl are dieing. They go really slowely and first thing in the morning I have to get out and actually move them by hand to get them going. It;s getting worse and I suspect they're going to stop completely before long. The more water on the screen the better they move so I suspect the motor is giving up the ghost.

Soooooooo before I shell out on a new/used wiper motor does anyone have experience of this problem and found it solved by greasing things up and or checking earth connections etc?

Charging my battery normally sorts mine out! I'd check that and check your alternator.

No it's not that as the rear wiper works just fine, the alternator is past it's best but the wipers are the same no matter what draw is on the electrics.

Anyone got a good motor kicking about they want to sell me?
