2.0 GTi with 6 speed Box ?

Hi,

Quick question, did the 2.0 GTI (2000/W) ever come with a 6 speed gearbox ? as far as I was aware they only ever came with a 5 speed ?

i think there is only the 115ps+ derv ones that come with a 6sp box. Not even sure if the GTi t has. Someone in the know will confirm that.

Edit: Ah, Derv as in the diesel GTI ?

115bhp TDI and above

derv = diesel

PS = new version of BHP

Hope that now makes sense

i dont think its just the GT TDIs. I think it might be any diesel with the 115hp engine and above. Someone with a better memory than me will probably correct me.

strange, have been offered a 2.0 GTI 5dr (2000/W) with a 6 speed box apparently, a check through the DVLA with the reg plate confirms it is a 6 speed too  perhaps an error.

Thats strange.

You are sure that its the 2.0 petrol gti and not the 1.9GTi TDI as iv seen them with only the GTI badge?

my 2.0 petrol hasnt got a 6 speed box but i thought the 6 speed was brought in the r32 not sure tho

2.0 were only 5 spd

PD diesels were 6 spd, normal tdi's 5 spd

1.8T's were 5 spd until the AUQ engine (2002 onwards) when they got a 6 spd box

Something definately odd about this car, also has a sunroof but no Air Con, I thought Air con was standard on a GTI.
