ive got nothing but praise for my local dealer; VW Lookers Middlesbrough (some classy service desk babes aswell  )
Never had to wait more than 3 days to get it in and they even give me a nice golf as a courtesy car. They will even do non-warranty items for me.

Shame you guys down south are having a nightmare.

While we are slagging VW stealers:

Citygate Ruislip - lying, time wasting, crap

Chiswick VW - useless, expensive

Twickenham VW - decent, so far....

Gone but not forgotten '07 Mk5 GTI DSG (2006 to 2014)

Re Point 7 of the original post - I have the picture of some young spotty twit sitting in your car having a crafty w&*k, there is the reason for the cum stain!

Wakie VW charged me 240 quid for my service, 21 quid of this was to adjust the drivers door which was closing 5mm short (I thought this would have been a warranty job). Oh and when I asked why it was put on the long life, they said "Sorry, we didn’t know it was a GTi!” They are all the same! My next trip will be to Awesome in Manchester!

i baught mine from JCT 600, they seem ok, they cleaned the whole car except the wheels which i found annoying but other than that they seemd OK.

Why is it that all VW mechanics at dealerchips are absolute @rseholes!!!

Must say that I am happy with the dealership that I use (used them for the last 4 years). The mechanics are good and will usually go to the n'th degree to sort out a problem.
Mind you I only get them to vac the car, not wash it, as I prefer to do it myself.

I did use one of the chains mentioned near the top of the post. After they damaged two of my cars I have never been back to them.
Bye Bye Edition 30

Hello fellas been away a while like we were flooded in June last year , still in a caravan on the drive waiting for re-instatement to start . Hence no messages comments etc, still working in Belfast no chanage there.  Only trouble is get I get to drive Ed 30 Friday night and over weekend, so only done 7,500 miles since last March. One thing though does make me appreciate the car when I get to drive it  . The reason I am now back on the site is my lil ol laptop now up and running in caravan. I just wanted to mention my dealer, I have used this one for a long time around 1992/3. Hayseldens at Doncaster have always done a good job, I can only speak from experience but they have gone out of their way to help me and on most occasions the car I was having trouble with hadn't been bought from them, cant say fairer that that keep up tp speed now I'm back take care boys and safe driving

Just goes to show how variable service can be even at the same dealership
- as per recent comments from others regarding Wakefield.

As a follow on to my original post, I had the standard "...hope you were satisfied with our service..." letter a week after my incident. Wasn't going to make anything of it, but seeing as they asked, I replied and told the service manager what had ocurred. Not had the courtesy of a reply ! Says it all really.

Maybe I'll make the trip to the red rose county (Awsome) for the next service...although Hurdy reckons Gilders at Hillsbrough are OK...again, it seems to depend on the service manager and mechanic you happen to get given on the day, so I have no confidence. Sad sate of affairs.
